I recently watched Lane's buddy Davis one afternoon and just had to share the pics I took of the two of them. We had a great time! Davis and Lane are only 2 weeks apart and played really well together. Well, I guess as well as most toddlers play together;). I got a kick out of watching them! Davis is probably one of the most easy going kiddos I know, he is so sweet and happy all the time. We hope he comes to play again soon!!

My, How Time Flies!!

I apologize for the delay in updating our blog lately, we have just been busy enjoying our sweet little girl this Summer! Time goes way too fast these days! We have had a wonderful Summer, filled with some traveling to visit friends and family, as well as enjoying our everyday life here at home.

I took Lane in for her 15 month appointment this morning and left with an excellent report card! She now weighs 21.3 lbs and is approx 30 inches tall. That puts her in the 20th percentile for her age. She is walking and running everywhere, and seems to grow even more every day. She is talking A LOT now, repeating different words everyday which is so fun!! We are just having a blast watching Lane grow, we are so blessed!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a perfectly sunny weekend to celebrate Memorial Day this year! Our weekend started off with a trip to Lake Brownwood to visit with some friends for the day. Lane had an absolute blast with her buddy Cash playing in this super sized inflatable water park. They had so much fun on the slides, with the water guns, and just splashing away! We also enjoyed the rest of the day catching up with friends we haven't seen in awhile, it was great!

On Memorial Day we had a nice visit with Lane's Great Aunt Marci, we like to call her Auntie M;) and her daughter Rebecca. Lane absolutely adored Rebecca! She will be the perfect babysitter in the future!

We finished off the weekend with a fun cookout at the Miers place. We ate yummy hamburgers, enjoyed more fun with friends, and of course the kids were getting wet again! Thanks everyone for a wonderful weekend!

Look Whooo Just Turned One!

We had so much fun celebrating Lane's 1st Birthday!!! We were blessed to have so many family members and friends here for the big occasion. Lane had a blast with her buddies! She absolutely loved everyone singing Happy Birthday to her and being in the spotlight. Surprisingly she didn't tear into her cake as we thought she would. Instead she was very gentle with it and only tasted a few bites of her icing ;)

It's hard to believe our precious little Lane just turned a year old! Every now and then we stop and wonder where the time has gone. We are just having a blast watching Lane grow into the beautiful little girl she is. She adores playing with and watching other kids but is still her shy little self when it comes to most adults. Lane is cruising along everything in the house and having fun getting into things at her new level. She loves to walk holding your hands or onto something but is still not ready to do it by herself. She will attempt to climb on or into just about anything she can.

Lane's first word besides mama and hi is owl, yea owl:) It's really cute! She has a stuffed owl which she loves so we had an owl themed party for her. Just days before her birthday she started saying owl all the time. On the day of her party she woke up from her nap and we heard her over the monitor saying Owl, Owl... she was ready for her party!!

The memories of this day one year ago are just amazing, Ty and I couldn't be more blessed! We love you sweet Laney Bug!!

I couldn't have asked for a more special holiday to celebrate what I love doing most, being a Mom! We had a wonderful relaxing day just spending our time together and visiting with family. Lane was able to spend some time with her great grandmother which is always very special. I am so blessed to have such a sweet baby girl and feel like the luckiest mom in the world!

March of Dimes Walk

We recently joined our friends for Abilene's March of Dimes walk and had a great time. Our friends Ashly and Derrick have a son Coy who was born premature, weighing only 2lbs and 12oz at birth. He is now a strong and healthy little boy, growing so fast!! Coy's group raised over $5,000 for the March of Dimes making them the lead contributor!! It was a windy morning but the kids were great and we all had a lot of fun!

Ty and I were asked to be Quinn's Godparents by Sally and Andy, we were so honored! Quinn Rosalie Twellman was baptized on Sunday April 11th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin. This is the same church Ty and I attended while we lived in Austin. The ceremony was perfect and we were all so proud of Quinn!

Lane wanted to say a special thank you to her sweet Aunt Rachel for taking care of her during the ceremony and giving her some TLC. She was teething and fussy and wanted her mama ;( Sorry you had to miss out on Quinn's big moment, you are the best!

So a few weeks have passed since we went down to Austin for another visit with friends. We had such a great time! We spent the weekend at the Twellman's cozy casa and they just spoiled us the entire time! It was great getting the kiddos together to play again, it's so fun watching them grow! 9 Months Old

On Valentine's Day our sweet little girl turned 9 months old! It is still so hard to believe how much she has grown! Ty and I are just having a blast and enjoying every sweet second. Lane has met some pretty big milestones this past month, she is now officially crawling and it is just too cute. We love how proud she gets when she figures something out. She will pause to look at us like "Did you see that?!" and then clap her hands to congratulate herself. She loves to babble, some of her favs are ma-ma, da-da, and ba-ba. She also has started saying things like, AH and OH and will then wait for you to say something back to her.

Lane is somewhat of a picky eater which is not surprising because both her mom and dad were as well ;). She now eats 3 meals a day when her teeth feel well. Some of her favorite foods are cheese, puffs, cereal, and some fruits. NO veggies! She loves to feed herself and drink from her sippy cup.

We have been having fun at the park and hanging out with her buddies. Although Lane has a shy side, she just adores other babies and kiddos! She is truly the love of our lives!! Happy 9 Months Laney Bug!

We have to say thank you to our company who shared some of Lane's discomfort this past week. It was perfect timing as the night they all arrived little miss Laney Bug got her 2 front teeth at 3:30 am. The next few days brought 2 more surprises to make a total of 4 teeth in 5 days! Lane was a trooper that's for sure, and it was so nice having our visitors to help out!

8 Months!

My how time flies!!! Our sweet baby Lane turned 8 months old this past week, we can hardly believe it! Lane gives us more joy each and every day. Sometimes we wish we could just press pause on life for awhile to enjoy all of these precious moments even longer!

At 8 months Lane now weighs 18 pounds, and is 28 inches long. She enjoys sitting up big to play with her toys, and rolling around on the floor (especially when we are trying to change her diaper). She has become somewhat mobile on her tummy. Although it's usually just in circles and backwards across the floor, she is having fun with it. She enjoys listening to her own voice and seeing just how loud she can get while practicing her sounds. We have decided that her first word is Mama, which I love! My heart melts when she's calling for me as she wakes up.

Lane has always been very partial to her mommy and daddy. She has a pretty shy and cautious personality, but definitely loves being around other kiddos and knows how to be just as silly as ever! She loves getting out and about to run errands, I don't think the employees at our grocery store can stand going one week without seeing her.

We are having the time of our life with our precious little bug. It is so much fun watching her grow and become the sweet little girl she is. We are truly blessed!

Well it looks like our little Laney Bug is on the move, it just happens to be in the wrong direction! Lane and I were playing in our living room last week on a cold day when she decided to scoot herself backwards all the way across the kitchen floor. It ws so much fun for her, she was so proud!

As you know we headed to our old stomping ground last weekend to celebrate the New Year with our friends. The Twellman family graciously opened their cozy home to the three of us for 4 whole days! We had such a fun filled weekend and plenty of kiddos for Lane to play with. It was so fun watching them together and posing them for pictures. As it is always said, they grow so fast!

Ty, Lane and I headed down to Austin to ring in the New Year with some of our closest friends. With the kids all tucked in bed, we slipped away for a fun evening at Jayne and Billy's place. I think the only time I left the kitchen from all of the fabulous food and conversation was for the countdown at midnight. We had such a fun time visiting with friends we haven't seen in several months. It was definately a great start to 2010!

What an amazing experience it was for us celebrating our first Christmas with Lane! Although she doesn't really understand much at this age, she really enjoyed playing with all of her packages and bows on the gifts from Santa. Ty and I had a blast watching her in all the excitement! This past weekend we took Lane to see Santa at Northpark Mall in Dallas. We were anxious to see how she would react to him and to our surprise she just loved him! Santa was so wonderful, he totally looked like the real thing and even promised her a pony! The two of them really hit it off, we wonder if it's because they had matching cheeks ;)?!? Missy has been my sweet kitty for almost 14 years now! She is such a love (to us at least:)! We were a bit curious to see how she would react when we brought Lane home from the hospital. Turned out she really had no interest in the her at all, she pretty much kept her distance especially when Lane would cry. She would look at us every now and then like we were crazy for bringing something so loud into out quiet little home.

It's been fun watching her have more interest in Lane and vice versa. Lane's face lights up when Missy comes into the room. She likes to touch her and just thinks it's so silly. Anyway, we were confined to the back of the house for a few days while some painters were here and Missy decided to join Lane and I for some play time. I just love my girls so much!

Snow Day

About 2 weeks ago we woke up to some snow on the ground here in Abilene. I felt like a little kid again and had to wake Ty up so he could see. We quickly found the warmest attire we could for Lane and bundled her up for some quick pictures. She wasn't quite sure what to think of it but had a fun time! I am sure we looked crazy at 6:30 am out in the freezing cold with our little baby but we are glad we enjoyed it because it melted quickly! I just loved snowy days when I was a kid and hope Lane gets to enjoy more of them too!

By the way, I also thought it was crazy that we had snow before my mom this year and she is way up in New Jersey! Thats Texas weather for ya!

Halloween and Thanksgiving

We have had so much fun this year with Lane celebrating all of her first holidays! She went to her first Halloween party dressed as a cute little Lady Bug. We decided on that since she has picked up the nicknames Buggy, and Laney Bug over the past few months. She had fun playing with the pumpkins and seeing all of her friends in their fun costumes.

Thanksgiving was also great this year, she loved watching the Macy's Day parade with her Daddy that morning. Later we enjoyed a very relaxing afternoon with family and ate way too much food! Lane helped me cook the turkey this year and even tested out some of her Grandma's sweet potatoes which were a hit! She was so excited after all the festivities and had fun wearing nothing but her turkey bib from Meema, she crack's us up! We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families, we are so thankful for all of our blessings!

Our family has been celebration a tradition we call Thanksmas for the past 5 years. It has truly become one of our favorite holidays! Thanksmas happens sometime between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, hence the name. Over the years we have developed new traditions for the weekend like the famous Rib Cook-off and designing our very own tree made of lights for the kids. We have spent the holiday together in several different locations but have now settled to meet in Ft. Myers Florida each year to celebrate. It is really nice to relax in the sun for a weekend after the cooler weather hits at home.

This year was really fun for us especially since it was Lane's first Thanksmas. She had a blast visiting and playing with her cousins, and was such a great traveler! We cherish this time we get to spend together as the distance in our daily lives keeps us apart most of the year. We just know Lane will enjoy the holiday as much as we do over the years and hope it will keep her close with her precious cousins! Cheers!

So we finally decided to join the blogging world! We have had a lot of fun keeping up with friends, family, and their kiddos through their blogs over the years. I guess you could say it's about time we joined in!

Ty and I moved to Abilene a little over a year ago and soon found out we were expecting our first baby. We were absolutely thrilled! Jordan "Lane" Adams was born on May 14th 2009, it was truly one of the happiest days of our lives! We have had so much fun the past six months watching our baby girl grow and thought this would be a good way for our family and friends to share that as well.
